A recent newly found passion for me is Apple Cider Vinegar otherwise called ACV. I have had a great boost of energy from my daily shot of this wonderful stuff. And I’ve found a number of other ways to add it to my daily routine to give me even more benefit.
ACV has been known to be effective for almost anything ranging from personal hygiene for skin and hair, to overall health, to in-home use and can even be beneficial to pets. This natural, raw and unfermented apple cider vinegar has proven to be far more than just a salad topping.
Here are 16 great ways to start using apple cider vinegar in your daily routine and begin enjoying the health and home benefits.
-
Clean your home, i.e., windows, floors, walls, you name it.
Apple cider vinegar is made from apple juice, then fermented twice to become ACV (apple cider vinegar). It can be used to clean almost anything when mixed with water, and it does it without the need for weird chemicals that are toxic and harmful to people and pets. Use equal parts water and vinegar.

To Help Keep Hair Strong and Shiny
The ACV (apple cider vinegar) can be used in a diluted solution to help keep your hair vibrant and shiny. This is an old trick that was used by women for years before the traditional conditions of today came about.
You can use an old shampoo bottle if you’d like. Put in one-half tablespoon of ACV and fill the rest of the bottle with cool water. Now pour onto the hair, wait a few minutes and rinse.

Breakouts On The Skin and Warts.
Keeping the skin at the proper pH level is important. One of the problems many people have is their skin can be either too alkaline or too acidic, which can lead to eczema, rosacea, dermatitis, etc. To be at it’s best the mantle of your skin (or it’s barrier) should be around 5.5 pH. ACV can help keep it there.
Here are a couple of different ways you can use it.
Number One: A body spray. Put one-part ACV to 8 parts water into a spray bottle and spray the skin. You can leave it on anywhere from 20 minutes up to one hour, depending on your skin type and sensitivity. Then rinse will plain cool water.
Number Two: Another way to spritz the entire body with the mixture you just made about 15 to 30 minutes before you take you shower or bath. ACV has properties that will help to clear and clean the pores and fight bacteria. Then just shower/bathe as usual.
Warts: It’s also known to have outstanding results against warts. For this treatment, mix two parts water to one-part ACV. Now get a cotton ball and soak it in the ACV/water solution you just made and apply it directly to the wart. Put a Band-Aid around it to keep it in place and leave it on overnight. Keep doing this every night until the wart dries up and falls off. Once the wart falls out, discontinue the treatment.
-
To Remove Stains From Your Teeth.
First let me say you don’t want to do this too often. ACV can break down tooth enamel if done continuously every day. But is very safe for occasional use. If you have a really stubborn stain, rub it directly onto the tooth, then rinse thoroughly with water.
If that is too strong a method for you make a solution of one teaspoon of ACV in one cup of water. Then swish about 2-3 minutes with that. Again, rinse thoroughly afterward and don’t do this every day.
-
Sunburned skin? Try this.
Pour one cup of ACV into a tub of water and soak for about 10 minutes. This is great for helping to relieve the pain and discomfort of a sunburn and is safe as well.
-
ACV As A Natural After Shave
Find an empty bottle so you can keep this on hand. Then mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water and put it in the bottle. To apply, put a little of the mixture in the palm of your hand, and splash onto your face just as you would any other after shave. Now you’ve saved yourself money and kept chemicals off your skin.
-
To Relieve Tired Feet And Hands
This could not be simpler. To get relief, many people simply rub it onto their hands or other sore muscle areas. Another great idea is to soak tired and achy feet and hands in a pan of warm water with one cup of ACV added in. Rinse after with both treatments.
-
Apple Cider Vinegar As A Weight Loss Agent
Because straight ACV can sometimes cause nausea, it’s best to dilute it first. If not diluted, it can also burn the esophagus on the way down or the inside of the mouth.
Try this: Put one tablespoon or less of ACV into a glass with sixteen ounces of water and drink before meals. This method has been shown in numerous studies to significantly help in weight reduction. It’s also recommended that you only do one to two tablespoons each day, so if you want to do the ACV/water mixture with each meal, then only do one-half tablespoon of ACV in water if you’re consuming it three times a day.
Always be sure to drink a glass of plain water after and thoroughly rinse out the mouth, teeth and gums.
-
Full Body pH Balance
Apple cider vinegar has been shown to help keep the pH level at it’s optimum. When the body’s pH levels are off, you’re at greater risk of disease of infection, as many bad bacteria and germs thrive in an acidic environment. Take ACV the same way as you would just discussed when discussing weight loss.
-
Body Detox
ACV can also help to detoxify the body as it regulates the pH levels. Research has shown that it can help stimulate cardiovascular circulation and liver detoxification.
-
Moving Lymph and Relieving Mucoid Conditions
Another great benefit of apple cider vinegar is its ability to break down mucous, clear clogged lymph nodes and help to relieve sinus congestion. By doing this it also helps to clear those same effects caused by allergies. Which also helps to clear the resulting headaches and sore throats.
-
Clear Candida
Candida is a type of yeast that is normal in the body. But when it gets out of control it causes fungal infections that are unwanted and uncomfortable. When this is out of control in the mouth it’s known as Thrush. Diabetics are more prone to yeast infections, so would want to pay particular attention to this information and condition.
As stated above, you can drink the ACV diluted in water to help control the Candida. Try one tablespoon in a glass of water twice a day. If the taste is something you just can’t get past, try adding a couple of drops of honey to it. Be sure to follow with a glass of water and rinse your mouth thoroughly after.
You can also gargle the mixture when dealing with thrush. Again, rinse with water after.
And you can add it to the bath by putting one cup of ACV into the bath water and soaking for 15 minutes. If you’re dealing with a vaginal infection, this can be quite effective. Rinse off with plain water afterward.
-
For Reducing Heartburn
Although it might seem far-fetched to try to get rid of one acid with another acid, studies show that the apple cider vinegar possesses ingredients that help in correcting the acidic level thereby eradicating heartburn. Mix one teaspoon to one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink.
-
A Flea Repellant For Pets
Using ACV to get rid of fleas is both effective and inexpensive. First of all, don’t spray it onto your pet full strength; it’s much too strong. Instead, find an empty spray bottle and mix equal parts water and apple cider vinegar together. Then spray it onto your pet’s coat, BEING SURE TO AVOID THE EYES, EARS AND NOSE. Do this every day for about a week to rid your pet of fleas.
-
Freshen Your Bathroom
The apple cider vinegar creates an apple smell in your bathroom and toilets left overnight in the toilet. Just add a cup of ACV to a freshly flushed toilet and let it sit through the night. Then flush when you get up in the morning.
-
Use it to clean and freshen your drains.
This is a very safe and quick way to kill bacteria in drains and keep them smelling fresh. Put one-half cup of baking soda into the drain. Then pour in one cup of ACV and one cup of hot water. The acidic properties in the ACV will help to kill of the bacteria and keep them from getting gunky and smelling.
These are just some of the many uses of Apple Cider Vinegar.
