Ingredients:
Item Description | Quantity |
Spiced unpacked pork sausage | 1¼ pound |
Water | ¼ cup |
Shredded green cabbage | 3 cups |
Shredded medium-sized carrot | 1 |
Garlic powder | ½ teaspoon |
Sesame oil (toasted) | 2 tablespoons |
Well crushed fresh ginger | ½ tablespoon |
Green onions (chopped) | 2 tablespoons |
Rice vinegar | 1 tablespoon |
Coconut aminos or tamari | 2 tablespoons |
Sesame seeds (optional) | 1 tablespoon |
Salt and black pepper seasoning | As required |
Directions:
- Place a big high-sided skillet over slightly high heat. Put the sausage in and let it cook for 5 to 6 minutes, while breaking it into tiny pieces. Take away from heat once the sausage color has changed, and cautiously drain leftover oil from the pan. Ensure that the pan sides are wiped from dripping oil before returning to heat.
- Place skillet back on the burner. Add water, then use a spatula to remove any brownish bits stuck on the pan. With minimal heat, add cabbage, carrots, green onions, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger, and seasoning. Stir often while it cooks for about 4 to 5 minutes, until the cabbage droops and the carrot gets soft.
- Put in rice vinegar and coconut aminos and stir continuously. Allow to cook for another 1 to 2 minutes. Turn off the heat and serve in a bowl. If using sesame seeds, sprinkle on top.
That’s it. Serve and enjoy!
